Why knovaly exists
Most companies do not have a lead generation problem first. They have a follow-through problem, and the evidence for it is already sitting in their CRM. knovaly reads that evidence and turns it into a number a leadership team can act on.

The premise: your CRM already knows
Every HubSpot portal that has been in use for more than a year contains a quiet record of unfinished business. A deal that reached proposal and then stopped receiving activity. A customer who bought twice, then never appeared in the pipeline again. A renewal date that lives in a closed-won deal property and was never turned into an open opportunity. An account that changed hands and lost its owner in the process.
None of this is negligence. It is the natural consequence of a sales organisation working forward. Attention flows to the newest opportunity, and the middle of the database quietly accumulates value that nobody has a reason to revisit. The revenue is not lost — it is simply unattended.
knovaly exists because that unattended revenue is almost always cheaper to recover than new revenue is to create. You already have the relationship, the pricing history and the reason to call. What is missing is a list.
Read-only, by design
knovaly connects to HubSpot through OAuth and requests read scopes only. It does not create records, does not merge duplicates, does not edit properties, does not enrol anyone in a workflow and does not delete anything. This is a deliberate product decision rather than a limitation we intend to grow out of.
The reason is trust. Handing a new tool write access to the system of record is a meaningful decision, usually requiring an administrator, a review and a rollback plan. Read-only access removes that entire conversation. The worst case for a knovaly scan is that the report is not useful to you — never that your CRM is worse afterwards.
What that means practically
- An administrator can approve the connection without a change-control process, because nothing changes.
- You can run a scan mid-quarter without any risk to live pipeline data.
- Findings are recommendations with named records, so your team decides what to act on.
- Disconnecting is immediate and leaves no trace in HubSpot.
Why the first scan is complimentary
We give the first scan away because the argument for knovaly is not persuasive in the abstract. Telling a revenue leader that their CRM probably contains recoverable revenue is a claim. Showing them a figure, a score and a list of their own accounts is evidence. Only one of those is worth paying for, and you should be able to see it before you decide.
The complimentary scan runs the same analysis a paid scan runs. Your headline revenue estimate, your Opportunity Score, the category breakdown and a preview of the records behind each finding are all genuine outputs from your own portal — not a demo dataset. A paid plan unlocks the complete record-level report and the ability to re-scan as your pipeline changes.
- Create an account and connect HubSpot with read-only access.
- knovaly reads deals, companies, contacts, owners, line items and quotes.
- The executive report appears with a revenue estimate and Opportunity Score.
- Review the categories, then decide whether the complete report is worth unlocking.
What actually makes it different
There is no shortage of ways to look at CRM data. The distinction knovaly draws is between reporting, which answers questions you already thought to ask, and intelligence, which surfaces the things you did not know to look for and attaches a value to them.
| Approach | What it gives you | What it asks of you |
|---|---|---|
| Dashboards and reports | Ongoing measurement of metrics you have already defined. | You must know in advance which question matters this quarter. |
| A manual audit | Deep, bespoke findings shaped exactly to your business. | Analyst time, exports, and a repeat effort every time you want a refresh. |
| A consulting engagement | Process design, change management and organisational buy-in. | Budget, scoping and a timeline measured in weeks or months. |
| knovaly | A ranked, dollar-sized list of recoverable revenue with named accounts. | A read-only connection and a few minutes. |
Five categories, deliberately
Every scan reports against the same five categories, so a report is comparable to the one before it: open pipeline at risk, renewals and rebookings, dormant relationships, win-back opportunities and CRM health. Fixed categories keep the report legible to an executive audience and make progress measurable over time.
Every finding explains itself
A finding you cannot defend in a pipeline review is worthless. Each one records the signals that triggered it — the last meaningful activity date, the deal stage, the owner, the prior purchase history — so a sales leader can challenge it and either accept the logic or dismiss the record with confidence.
Pricing that scales with your CRM
knovaly is priced against the size of the database it analyses, measured by total contact volume. A ten-person company with a few thousand contacts should not pay what an enterprise portal with hundreds of thousands of records pays, and the analysis genuinely costs more to run at scale.
Practically, this means the plan you need is determined by your portal rather than by a negotiation. When you connect HubSpot, knovaly reads your contact count and tells you which band you fall into before you commit to anything. There is no seat-based pricing, because the value of the report does not change with how many people read it.
What knovaly is not
Being clear about the boundaries is part of the pitch. knovaly is a diagnostic. It is not a replacement for the people and systems that act on the diagnosis.
- It is not a CRM administrator. It will not restructure your pipeline stages or rebuild your properties.
- It is not a data cleanup tool. It identifies which data defects cost money; it does not merge or delete records.
- It is not a sales engagement platform. It will not send emails, run sequences or make calls.
- It is not a forecasting system. It reports on recoverable revenue that already exists, not on what you might sell next quarter.
- It is not a consulting engagement. It will not design your process or manage the change required to fix it.
Several of those are things you may genuinely need. If you do, a knovaly report makes that work cheaper by telling whoever does it exactly where to start.
Who knovaly is for
The best fit is a revenue leader — a founder, CRO, VP of Sales or head of RevOps — at a company that has been running HubSpot long enough to have history in it. Roughly two years of activity is where the patterns become rich enough to be interesting, though younger portals still surface pipeline and health findings.
- You suspect there is money in the database but cannot prove it or size it.
- You want a prioritised list rather than another dashboard to maintain.
- You need an argument that will survive a board meeting, with named accounts behind it.
- You are unwilling to give a new vendor write access to your system of record.
If you would rather see the output before the argument, the sample report shows a complete executive report end to end.
Frequently asked questions
- Does knovaly change anything in my HubSpot portal?
- No. knovaly requests read-only scopes and never writes, merges, deletes or updates a record. Everything it produces lives in the knovaly report, not in your CRM.
- How long does the first scan take?
- Most portals produce an executive report within a few minutes. Larger databases continue a background CRM health sweep after the revenue report is already available to read.
- Is the first scan really complimentary?
- Yes. You can connect HubSpot and receive a report with your headline revenue estimate, Opportunity Score, category breakdown and a preview of the underlying records without paying anything. A paid plan unlocks the complete record-level report and repeat scans.
- What happens to my data?
- Your data remains yours. knovaly stores what it needs to produce your report, encrypts credentials, and will delete your workspace data on request. The security page sets out the detail.
- Do I need a RevOps team to act on the report?
- No. The report is written for executives: named accounts, dollar values and a ranked list of actions. If you do have a RevOps function or an external partner, the report gives them a prioritised starting point.
- Will knovaly work if our CRM data is messy?
- Messy data is the normal case, and much of the value is in quantifying that mess. knovaly reports on CRM health explicitly and tells you which data defects are costing money rather than simply listing everything that is imperfect.
